I chose to read about the theory of
Multiple Intelligences by Howard Gardner. This theory says that there are eight different types of intelligences. I really liked this because I have always believed that everyone is intelligent in their own way and this was a more fleshed out version of that. As for what I am naturally best at, I believe I have an intrapersonal intelligence. I spend a lot of time inside my mind and feel very connected to my own feelings and thoughts. I think this is partly because I am an only child. This semester I think I will have a chance to grow a couple of the intelligences; interpersonal, linguistic and logical-mathematical. I will be able to grow my interpersonal skills with others this semester not only in my capstone group, by collaborating with others, but also with my Spanish students by interacting and teaching. Linguistic intelligence is another area where I can grow this semester. This class will help my writing skills and reading skills, while my Antisemitism class, which is solely lecture, will help me to listen better. Lastly, I will be able to work on my logical-mathematical skills in my capstone group as I have been assigned the research component which means I will be spending a lot of time experimenting and reasoning with my thoughts and insights.
