I watched the video, 7 Secrets from Hindu Calendar Art - Chapter 1 Ganesha's Secret. The video begins by telling a story about a race that Ganesha and Kartikeya participate in. They are told that the winner will receive a mango if they race around the world three times. Kartikeya races around the actual  world three times, while Ganesha races around his world, his mom and dad Shivu and Parvati, who are gods themselves. I had not heard about Parvati before so I chose to focus in on her for my notes. The video goes on to explain that Parvati is a goddess because she encompasses the entirety of emotions, even if they are in opposition to one another.

Next in the video, it explains how in Hinduism you can have Gods, gods, Goddesses and goddesses. I did not really understand this concept before. But the video does a good job explaining it by referencing the story from the beginning of the video of Ganesha and Kartikeya. They both race around their own world, and one of them is not more right than the other, they are both true and honest in their opinion of the world. This is how I understand Parvati, she can encompass emotions that are in opposition with one another without compromising them.

On her Wikipedia page, it explains the origin of her name, which comes from the Sanskrit word for mountain. This is because Parvati is the daughter of King Himavan, who is like the king of the Himalayas. I think I could work this into my project if I chose to do the travel guide option. I could focus on Parvati and her family and make them tour guides of the Himalayas that show tourists the way around the area.
