Reading Notes: PDE Mahabharata, Section A

For this note taking assignment I wanted to try the Wikipedia strategy where you can look up a part of the story that you want to learn more about. Part 16 of Section A of the PDE Mahabharata mentioned Ekalavya and how he is of the Bhil Tribe, an aboriginal group from India.
I had never heard of them before so I figured they would be interesting to learn about this week. Upon reading about them on Wikipedia, I learned they are the largest tribal group in India and are also settled in Pakistan. There is a population of almost 17 million Bhil in India and about 380,000 in Pakistan. They are also largely Hindu, which makes sense since they are featured in the Mahabharata. Their name is means, bow people and they are said to be the people that offer Rama his bow while in the forest searching for Sita. I thought this was really cool that there was a tie in between the Ramayana and the Mahabharata in this sense.
