Reading Notes: Week 4 Extra Credit

For this week's extra credit, I chose to watch the Part 2 of the 7 Secrets of Hindu Calendar Art. I am glad I watched this video because I felt like it did a good job of explaining Narayan to someone that is unfamiliar with the story.

One part that I found really interesting was how it explained that in Hinduism there is no reason to rush with one's life, because they know it is the life they are meant to be living and there will be more lives to come. Like the video said, this is unlike Christianity who rush to be saved by God and unlike Muslims who rush to surrender to God, seeing as these groups believe there is only one life to do so.

I also like how they explained that in Hinduism, death is just a comma and not a full stop. This is so different from the Abrahamic religions so it is interesting to learn more about the beliefs in Hinduism since I sadly don't have much background with it. I like these videos a lot and hope to do some more for the weekly extra credit notes as I feel like they are informative yet entertaining and also have great visuals.
